FPT and Creaform – A Canadian Tech Partnership to Boost 3D Digitalization for Vietnamese Heritage

Recently, FPT and Creaform, a leading Canadian technology company specializing in 3D scanning and highly accurate measurement, entered into a partnership in the field of culture and heritage preservation.

FPT partners with Creaform to master world-class 3D digitization technology.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on May 26, 2025, FPT and Creaform are set to jointly embark on cultural heritage digitization projects across Vietnam. This initiative will strategically leverage Creaform’s state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology alongside FPT’s robust capabilities in solution development and implementation. Both parties harbor strong aspirations that this collaboration will culminate in the establishment of a preeminent heritage digitization platform in Vietnam, one that stands in parity with the advanced standards currently adopted in developed nations.

On the global stage, Creaform has solidified its reputation as a highly esteemed entity within the domain of 3D scanning and non-contact measurement, with its sophisticated equipment extensively deployed in over 85 countries. Creaform’s technology garners significant acclaim for its unrivaled precision, operational flexibility in fieldwork environments, and its particular aptitude for handling artifacts possessing intricate geometries and diverse material compositions – a prevalent challenge encountered in the field of cultural heritage digitization.

Through this synergistic agreement, FPT is designated as the priority partner in Vietnam for the deployment and application of Creaform’s most cutting-edge technologies in heritage digitization. This strategic maneuver is poised to bolster Vietnam’s “Make in Vietnam” capacity, fostering the cultivation of internationally competitive technological products and services that are domestically developed by Vietnamese professionals and tailored to address the specific practical challenges prevalent in Vietnam. Creaform’s solutions facilitate the meticulous digitization of every intricate detail, material, and form of cultural artifacts, thereby unlocking the potential for digital reconstruction of both tangible and intangible heritage. Concurrently, this collaboration will empower museums, archival centers, and various cultural institutions to curate highly accurate digital data repositories. Consequently, both entities are presented with the opportunity to pioneer and develop immersive virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) experiences, and sophisticated digital models for preservation and exhibition purposes.

The two organizations are proactively planning to collaboratively promote and introduce these innovative solutions to relevant state management agencies, museums, research institutes, cultural organizations, and the broader community of experts, with the overarching aim of fostering the widespread application of digitization technology in heritage conservation.

Mr. Tran Phong Lam of FPT delivered a speech at the event
