Digitalizing Binh Phuoc Museum: akaVerse and the Mission of Technology Serving National Heritage

Amidst the nationwide drive to advance the application and development of information technology, guided by the principles of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage within the digital realm has emerged as an urgent task of profound significance. The application of technology to showcase and elevate Vietnamese cultural heritage broadly, and that of Binh Phuoc province specifically, signifies a crucial advancement. Digitizing cultural heritage and establishing 3D museums is an indispensable trend for showcasing cultural heritage in the digital age. In Binh Phuoc, the museum’s digitalization journey is not merely a technological undertaking but a vivid embodiment of the synergy between national responsibility and the Vietnamese people’s innovative spirit.

The digitalization journey of Binh Phuoc Provincial Museum, expertly guided and implemented by FIS GS in close collaboration with the client and in synergy with akaVerse, is centrally focused on leveraging technology to securely preserve national historical artifacts, significantly enhance the visitor experience, and broaden public access to Binh Phuoc’s rich culture. This empowers both residents and tourists to explore heritage with greater convenience, speed, and modern appeal, offering a truly engaging experience. The project is dedicated to enhancing public service effectiveness for those eager to discover and immerse themselves in Binh Phuoc’s heritage.

A key factor underscoring the project’s appeal and intrinsic value is its foundation upon a holistic and integrated suite of information technology solutions, proudly bearing the “Make in Vietnam – Made by FPT” hallmark. FPT Corporation, a trailblazer in Vietnam’s digital transformation, delivers the foundational technologies that bring the digital museum to life:

  • 3D Laser Scanning & 3D Photogrammetry: These potent digital instruments, engineered by FPT, meticulously capture every intricate detail, contour, and hue of the artifacts and the entire exhibition space. This system is designed to seamlessly transform information about stored and displayed artifacts from their physical state into a dynamic digital format. The outcome is 3D models and digital replicas of near-perfect fidelity, establishing a robust foundation for enduring preservation and scholarly research.
  • VR360 Technology: This solution crafts an authentic and immersive virtual museum experience on a digital platform. Visitors can seamlessly “navigate” the virtual museum, examining artifacts from any conceivable angle through intuitive controls. This captivates visitors, allowing them to explore and absorb information with unparalleled ease, vibrancy, and engagement within the online 3D exhibition, effectively dissolving geographical constraints. Requiring only a smart device with an internet connection, individuals can embark on a vivid and detailed tour of the Museum, anytime and anywhere.

The project was expeditiously implemented over a three-month period at Binh Phuoc Provincial Museum, mobilizing a dedicated team of 50 seasoned experts and technicians.

The application of “Made by FPT” technology extends far beyond the mere creation of digital replicas. It ushers in a host of transformative advantages:

  • Enduring Preservation: Heritage is securely safeguarded within a ‘digital vault,’ ensuring its availability for posterity.
  • Amplifying Value, Engaging the Public, and Boosting Tourism: The virtual exhibition space grants effortless access to millions, allowing them to discover the rich history and culture of Binh Phuoc and Vietnam. Implementing the 3D Museum system will significantly boost the efficacy of outreach and marketing initiatives, while also cultivating a strong influx of visitors. It showcases the distinct value of each artifact, thereby powerfully stimulating curiosity and scholarly interest among tourists and the public concerning Vietnamese culture and its people, with a special focus on Binh Phuoc. This broad-scale promotion of the museum’s image will yield greater impact, contributing to an increased flow of tourists to both the museum and Binh Phuoc province at large.
  • Optimized Management: The 3D management system, coupled with intelligent search functions leveraging digitized data, streamlines and enhances the museum’s operational efficiency.

In the Industry 4.0 epoch, the integration of information technology into daily life is an undeniable imperative. The Binh Phuoc Museum digitalization project transcends mere technological application in adherence to Resolution 57-NQ/TW; it stands as compelling proof that “Make in Vietnam – Made by FPT” technology is capably shouldering the profound responsibility of preserving and championing national cultural identity with remarkable creativity and efficacy. Furthermore, the implementation of the 3D Museum system is instrumental in laying crucial groundwork for the development of a digital government, thereby fostering accelerated administrative reform, elevating management capabilities and operational efficiency, and ultimately delivering superior services to citizens and enterprises alike.
